I mean, whow come on here! I bought an exceptionally cheap, 18gig U320, 15k SCSI harddisk to install Vista Beta 2 x64 on to and I get to the installation screen (after waiting 20 minutes on a black and white “loading” screen) and it then tells me it needs 20Gig of free space to install Vista to! What the hell!?
Basically to install Vista from a standard 4.5Gig DVD it copys the (whole) thing across, decompresses it and then installs it from there. So instead of using a harddisk that could have made my next gen computing experience like shit off a stick, I’ve been resigned to using an 80gig 7200rpm SATA disk. Boooorrrring.
Why is installing an OS always a hassle. You can never just pop the disk in and off you go, it’s always one problem or another stopping you or needing you to restart/find drivers/fix issues. It takes at least a dozen goes (over a period of time, not all at once) before you learn how to do it first time and get it absoultely stable without having to mess about. To me, that’s still not an entirely intuitive computing experience. I suppose Apple have one up again, in a way.

Seriously, there’s nothing like completing a collection even if you haven’t seen/read it yet. Despite them being really expensive at around £20 a pop, they are arguably the best drawn, best detailed and one of the best storied manga’s ever. Forget the movie; the manga has a whole depth that makes the movie look like a dried up puddle.

Get them NOW whilst you can, because, word down the grapevine is Dark Horse Manga who publish it in the UK (& US?) are re-issuing them in a smaller, A5 format. I can’t see how, since the level of detail in the A4 format is incredible as it is, so making it smaller might loose that, or, if they are cutting and rejigging it some of the scenes might not make as much sense or they will try and shift 10-12 books, rather than 6. The A4s have FAR more impact on your shelf as well.
I’m only up to book 3 and a bit which gets a tad monotonous with the perpetual running away, but it’s still a damn good read.

Seriously, if you’re a fan of Resident Evil 4, you’re gonna love this. It’s a long 42 minutes, but it’s totally worth it. I couldn’t see for the tears (I was laughing so hard, not because it was crap).
