Forgot to point this out; The sister site NBS-Review has released podcast #5 (Episode 4) yesterday, so check it out if you’ve got an hour you need filling and want some more E3 chat.
Just watching last weeks MacBreak now about automator and I’ve got to admit THAT is something I would convert to a mac for. It has so many uses and is something Windows really needs and will no doubt copy in time. I can see myself filling a whole folder full of automator plugins for stuff, and throwing away a lot of programs that essentially are just scripts to do the same job. Sal showed how to do a mass rename and an image strip from URL to folder and that’s basically what I employ two complete programs to do in windows whenever I need it. Having it as a script meanns your start menu doesnt fill up with programs I only use once a month, and keeps a common interface. And you know it’ll work, rather than scouting the internet for free programs that are still likely to be in alpha or beta, which do the job half arsed. It was a great demonstration for what looks like an excellent program.
