Consistently Strong TV This Year?

Out of the “premium” shows, anyone else recon they have made them consistently strong across the board. Sure, there are the odd mishap (Smallville: which has less bite than my Grandma), but this series of 24, Lost and across the board of CSI for example are consistently entertaining and seem to be excelling towards the end. Where previous seasons of 24 have been loose to keep Jack in crisis, to say the least, this one seems to be going down right to the wire with some great plot twists and more “probable” scenarios. After all, everyone loves a good conspiracy. It’s the same with lost: I’ve never been so gob smacked after episode 20 of season 2, which is sad because mid season it was quite boring to watch and now it’s going to end and I wont be able to wait until September.

I do fail to see the logic in how Smallville is such a popular series, apart from seeing “Lois” in the nip, but you don’t even get that, and I fell out of love with “Lana” a few series ago when her princess persona wore thin. Every episode is the same crap, with a little subplot of actual story evolution and the last 10 minutes dedicated to “what did we learn today?” Yawn. For the love of good TV just FLY. I’m bored of waiting for it. Smallville seems to be the epitomy of “how long can we string this out for without actually going anywhere”.

As for a Simpsons movie, considering how boring just 20 minutes of Season 17 is, they better throw a lifetime of good material in to make an hour and a half watchable. I still watch every episode though, just like everyone else becuase it is The Simpsons and you just can’t watch it. I still recon it’ll turn out like the Family Guy movie which was boring as hell after the first half hour. This type of stuff should stick to their 20 minutes of intense animation. Boom boom boom, done, everybodys happy.
