New Board!

Got another Crossfire board in today and I have to be honest I’m underwhelmed. The package is pretty normal compared to what I’ve received from MSI in the past and the motherboard pretty “Meh” for something which should be enthusiast. It also has the smallest northbridge heatsink I’ve seen for a while (not pictured).

On the topic of motherboards, after a chat with ECS last week they’re now going to send us out final-final retail boards only. Nothing pre-production, so they (assure us) that we should never have a problem again. It means our reviews will come out a bit after the actual board is released, but at least we can tell you this is definately what you’ll actually buy which is far more useful for Bit-tech’s readers. Im tempted to set up odds and take bets on the likelyhood that the “no problems” will actually be reality, as is with anything said in the industry: what is said and what actually happens are two entirely different things.
